beginner telescope
As a total beginner
, I wanted a telescope practically ready to use out of the box with minimum set up. I wasn't disappointed, from opening the box to complete setup took less than ten minutes with no tools needed.

The price for what you get is ridiculously low, the PowerSeeker telescope has a wide field of view and is easy to use. The focuser is easy to use and produces nice and clear images with the correct eyepiece !. Finding targets in the night sky is really easy with the finder scope. The tripod is adjustable, good for the price, and is surprisingly sturdy, there is also an accessory tray on the tripod which is very useful. The scope moves freely on the tripod, side to side and up/down there is also a slow-motion fine tune rod on the side of the scope for vertical viewing which helps a great deal locating smaller objects etc. The 4 mm eye piece included unfortunately I haven't been able to see much, the 20 mm is surprisingly good, The Barlow lens I haven't mastered, yet I've been advised to replace it with a shorter Barlow lens. I have purchased an adapter for my mobile phone that fits the eyepiece, This fits quite well, and you could produce some nice photographs. powerseeker 80azs

The scope and tripod are in my opinion well made, very light and are ideal for travel, easy to dismantle and rebuild in no time. I have purchased 3 Svbony lens 4 mm, 10 mm and 23 mm which have turned this from a good scope into an excellent scope, the moon looks fantastic, the rings of Saturn can be seen and the moons of Jupiter.

Don't be fooled by the price of this telescope ( Celestron PowerSeeker 80AZS ), it's more than value for money, suitable for all ages, and you won't be disappointed. There is obviously better scopes but not at this price, would I recommend this telescope, most definitely.
