A fantastic entry point into the field of astroimaging or digiscoping is the Celestron NexGO Universal Smartphone Adapter. You get everything you need with the NexGO to take clear, precise photos and videos.
NexGO is compatible with eyepieces with diameters ranging from 25.4mm (1.0") to 44.45mm (1.75"), which includes the majority of telescopes with 1.25" eyepieces, spotting scopes, monoculars, binoculars, and microscopes.
The most recent smartphones from Apple, Samsung, and Google are all supported with NexGO. The phone platform can accommodate any smartphone and is completely adjustable—typically with the case on. The NexGO comes with a booster to make sure they fit with older phones that are 5" height or smaller.
The NexGO is foldable to a smaller size for simple transport, and features rack and pinion X- and Y-fine adjustment knobs for exact alignment.
By tightening the orange knob on the NexGO smartphone adapter, you can clamp the device around your eyepiece and keep it in place.
When not in use or while travelling, the NexGO smartphone adapter compresses into a small package that is simple to store and transport.
NOTE: The X and Y adjustment racks are calibrated when they leave the manufacturer, but if you need to make changes, see our Tension Adjustment Guide under the Support & Downloads tab for instructions.
The safe platform's sturdy, long-lasting design with a metal frame and polymer body allows it to withstand demanding field use. Years of outdoor adventures won't damage the NexGO.
Simple as ever
The majority of adapters only allow a few minor changes and rely on you correctly aligning your phone with the platform. However, NexGO gives you the option to put your phone on the platform and use the X and Y adjustment knobs to centre it over the eyepiece until you have the whole field of vision in your shot.
Including the time it takes to insert the phone into NexGO, connect NexGO to an eyepiece, launch the camera app, and centre the camera over the eyepiece using the knobs, the entire operation only takes around 30 seconds.
To recentre the camera on the new eyepiece while switching phones, eyepieces, or optical equipment, just minor changes are needed. NexGO's straightforward spring-loaded clamps make it simple to remove one device and quickly replace it with another in case more than one person wants to take a picture through your optic. For star parties and group bird walks where everyone wants a piece of the action, NexGO is the perfect option.
Additionally, you can change the orientation of your image from portrait to landscape by simply turning the cushioned eyepiece clamp and realigning the X- and Y-axis on your phone.
The Celestron NexGO Universal Smartphone Adapter comes with a 2-year warranty.
NOTE: NexGO works with microscopes, binoculars, monoculars, telescopes, and spotting scopes. The majority of phone cases are compatible with NexGO, however if you have a very large case with built-in batteries or a folio-style case, you might need to take it off.

Never look directly at the Sun with the naked eye or with an optic (unless you have the proper solar filter). Permanent and irreversible eye damage may result.
Never use your optic to project an image of the Sun onto any surface. Internal heat build-up can damage the optic and any accessories attached to it.
Never leave your optic unsupervised. Make sure an adult who is familiar with the correct operating procedures is with your optic at all times, especially when children are present.
