It was purchased as a Xmas present, so it has not been tried or used yet. But it looks good.

Good for beginners, city dwellers in cramped flats
Wednesday, 3 October 2012  |

Bought this as a gift and it is about what I expected based on reviews -- not for serious astronomy but fun for someone who likes to stare at the sky and wants to see the moon in greater detail. Light and compact so you can take it with you on trips to places without city light interference. It is fiddly and the tripod a bit flimsy but a good value.

Nice beginner telescope

For a first telescope it's fine. The finder scope needs an upgrade (the mount and adjuster screws are not very easy to use), and the tripod's a bit wobbly. But, for the price, you won't find much better.

Small, light to carry and well built. Good value for money.

This is a telescope for beginners. Small, light to carry and well built. The backpack stinks of Chinese low grade plastics. Not a major fault, but annoying. It works well for observing wildlife but its quality (and the flimsy tripod) impairs any DPO astronomical observing. Better fitted for the observation of closer celestial bodies (moon and solar planets).
