Fantastic!

Absolutely brilliant spotting scope.
Went to an rspb site with this to test it out and it was amazing, beautiful colours of the magnificent puffins which was a really crisp sharp image.
Felt like you were right next to them.
Have also tried the scope out with a bit of amateur astronomy, the moon looks awesome, never seen the craters look like this before.
Managed to also see Jupiter and all its four moons, could even see the stripes on Jupiter, amazing.
Then imagine my amazement the other night when I tried to look at what I thought was a star only to zoom in and realise it was actually Saturn, and I could see its rings perfectly.
Completely blew me away.
If you are looking for a scope for bird life, wildlife and also a bit of astronomy then I would definitely recommend this.
Maybe on the expensive side but it’s the situation where you get what you pay for.
Also a note on picstop.
If you are going to buy this then get it here, you will definitely not find it cheaper anywhere else and delivery was very quick so brilliant service from these guys too.
All in all it’s a great buy from a great site.

scope broke after first use
20 November 2018  |

On the first occasion that I used it outside, having used it in a bird hide I carried it back to the car attached to the tripod. As I arrived back at the car I lowered the scope and tripod with the objective of removing the scope from the tripod and putting them in the car. As I was doing this the scope came off the tripod and fell to the ground. The eyepiece and lock collar broke off completely. so after 30 minutes use the scope is now useless. For the last 8 years I have used another Celestron scope, and always carried it attached to the tripod so I wasn't expecting any problems. Because this fell it will not be covered by the guarantee, so I will have to pay for a repair.

Response:

The manufacturer of this scope, Celestron, have stated that they do not recommend carrying a heavy scope like this by the tripod (as described by the customer) as there is too much stress on the joint. Celestron recommend using the carry case provided. We went to great lengths liaising with Celestron to help this international customer resolve this problem by organising a repair because the damage through mis-use was not covered under the product warranty and Celestron were not willing to simply replace.

Good spotting scope

It brings clear and bright images but it's a little large and heavy due its big objective 100 lens, of course

Very good

Related to the price it is a very good telescope good and clear sight. The protektion bag could have been smarter, it is a bit difficult to reach the focusing adjustment screws. When the flaps from the cover are folded down they courses trouble managing the tripod.

After a lot of research I bought the Celestron Regal M2 100ED Spotting Scope and find that it does everything that I expected. The service from Picstop was good and the scope arrived promptly and well packaged.
