The Celestron NexImage 10 is the first NexImage series camera to incorporate USB 3.0 SuperSpeed. With more than ten million pixels coupled with high speed data transmission, the NexImage 10 produces clear and detailed planetary images like never before. With super small 1.67µm pixels, smaller telescopes with shorter focal lengths are still going to yield tremendous planetary detail. It’s one of the best valued, high-res USB 3.0 planetary imaging cameras on the market. The NexImage includes everything you need to get started, including Celestron's easy-to-use software suite. The iCap capture software and RegiStax stacking software are the same powerful programs included with Celestron's high-end Skyris cameras.

Simply point your telescope at the Moon or a planet and record a quick video. The software analyzes each frame of video, throws away the fuzzy ones, and perfectly aligns the remaining images. The result is a bright, clear image with the maximum amount of colour and detail. Celestron NexImage 10 is a great way to get started with astroimaging, especially if you live in a light-polluted area. If you can see the planet in the sky, you can image it with NexImage 10.

Now Mac OS X compatible.

Getting there slowly
04 October 2023  |

Each time there is a cloudless moonlit night I have to grab everything and camp outside in the garden. First I set up the Celestron telescope, align it with the current sky, point it to the moon and set up tracking so it tracks the moon. Then I take out the eyepiece and insert the Celestron camera, connected to my laptop. Then I have to manually focus to get the moon in focus. This is because the focal length of the eyepiece is very different than the Celestron camera. Eventually I see the moon's craters close up, on my laptop screen. However, it is very fuzzy and hard to focus. I need training in how to manipulate imaging software to improve the sharpness of the image. I tried to capture an image and save it to my computer, but when I searched where I saved it, I could not find it. I need training in how to capture an image. If I lived in a dry country I would have clear skies every night, and I could perfect my technique much quicker, but I am living in the British Isles where the cloud cover is excessive. So, I don't get much opportunity to perfect the technique of using this camera. I hope eventually to be able to take clear pictures of Jupiter and the other planets. I'd love to take pictures of stars and nebulae, but I don't think this camera will be powerful enough.
