The Celestron PowerSeeker 40TT AZ Telescope is a tabletop tripod, designed to give the first-time telescope user the perfect combination of quality, value, features and power. The PowerSeeker is quick and easy to set up. Their sturdy equatorial mounts are perfect for tracking objects in the night sky, and the collapsible alt-azimuth mounts are perfectly suited for terrestrial viewing as well as astronomical use.

To keep the Powerseeker 40AZ Tabletop refractor safe, the telescope comes with a nylon carrying bag. This is great for travelling as well as storage and the pack comes with the SkyX First Light edition CD-ROM with 10,000 object database and enhanced images so you can edit and adapt your views and pictures to get the very best pictures possible.

This Powerseeker Tabletop telescope features erect image optics for astronomical and land observing with a quick and easy no tool set up, perfect for beginners. It has fully coated glass optics with high transmission coatings for enhanced image brightness, contrast and clarity. Complete with 2x Barlow Lens which doubles the magnifying power of each eyepiece and The Sky X First Light edition CD-ROM with 10,000 object database and enhanced images. There is also a nylon carrying bag for ease of travelling and storage.

Good starter 'scope for the money, with a decent storage bag and all the lenses and converters a novice will need to get him/her started. Excellent value.

about 1.5 feet long. magnification power as on the specifications, would suit a child age 5 upwards, need adults help to focus. tripod only 1 foot tall, so need somewhere higher to put it to see stars.

I bought this as a gift for my 6 year old son. This particular model is a great product to start gazing at the nightly skies.
