First the good news. Excellent value from Picstop - if this is what you're looking for.
Yes, it will undoubtedly hold oodles of kit, and safely store it all using the velcro dividers. However, as another reviewer has said, it is quite deep - too deep in my opinion to be used as a practical tote about rucksack. Put much weight in it (eg typical dslr and a few extras, such as lenses) and it will be a drag on your back.
I have found this backpack so uncomfortable that I have decided to look at well designed modern hiking rucksacks and be prepared to fish about for my gear.
It will remain at home as a general photo tackle store in future.
The £50 list price is very unrealistic, but the selling price at Picstop is fair if you can get on with the pack. (Posted on 28/08/2011)

OK Review by SJD

It's ok for the money but that's about it. Big single pockets means filters, cards, etc get mixed together. Could do with the pockets divided into smaller units. The case is too deep and things tend to rattle around and the lack of velcro on the bottom of the dividers allows items to slip beneath. (Posted on 04/07/2011)

As I cycle on a regular basis this backpack is very handy. I can take my 70 - 300
18 - 55 and 55 - 200 lenses plus filters etc bit of a tight fit but you need to arrange them properly so they all fit well (Posted on 20/06/2011)

Having looked at various options I decided to go for a well known brand of backpack. The price of the Hama 190 was excellent and comparable to cheap imports. Service from Picstop was brilliant and I am very pleased with the product. It is strong, lightweight, flexible and well thought out. The only improvement I would make is to have a small internal pocket for memory cards. Otherwise thoroughly recommended. (Posted on 04/06/2011)
Good for the price... Review by Leaston

After buying my first DSLR recently, I decided to buy a dedicated camera bag instead of stuffing everything into my rucksack and risk damage.

I'm currently carrying the following around with me and needed something large enough, with space to spare: Nikon D3100, Sigma 70-300 lens, Panasonic Lumix TZ8, Nikon remote cable release, lens filters, cleaning kit, memory cards, batteries. The Hama 190 holds all of the above, with room to spare for at least one or two more lenses and other small items.

Inside the main compartment, you have the usual foam padded dividers of varying length, each with a velcro strip at the ends. You can arrange these however you choose, to fit your own equipment and way of organising it all. This works well enough.

My gripe with the way this bag is designed is due to the rigidity of the foam pads and the placement of the velcro. My DSLR with the heavy 300mm lens fitted is too heavy for the dividers to hold properly and no matter which way I arrange things, it all sags. The only way around this is to have the camera at the bottom of the bag (if it was stood upright on the floor). This isn't ideal because it means the bag has to be opened fully to remove the camera.

If you're using lighter lenses, the Hama 190 is capable of carrying everything safely and for the price, the bag is ideal as a starter. (Posted on 03/06/2011)

For around £15 it's very good value. Although the adjustable dividers are adequately padded the bag is quite deep and could do with either a stiffer back or velcro to the bottom of the dividers to prevent smaller items slipping beneath, (Posted on 03/06/2011)
