Frequently Asked Questions

How do you use a GoTo telescope?

GoTo Telescopes are simple to use, just find 3 different stars and the onboard computer maps these objects against its database and calculates the direction your are viewing, then aligns your telescope. You can then navigate to other night sky objects using the remote control included.

Can a GoTo telescope be used manually?

Most GoTo telescopes require you use a remote control to move it, although they all have the option of adjusting the direction the scope is pointing to. There are some GoTo telescopes that allow you to manually move the scope to whichever direction you want and will keep track of where the scope is pointing, whether moved by hand or by the included GoTo remote control.

Is it worth getting a computerised telescope?

For most beginners to astronomy, a computerised telescope will enable you to locate many more celestial objects in an evening's viewing than you could find on your own. With friendly user interfaces, the GoTo Telescopes are simple to use for even the most novice astronomers.
