The Fuji Type M xD card was released in late 2005 and uses Multi Level Cell (MLC) architecture to achieve the higher storage capacities needed to store video clips that are becoming increasingly more popular in digital cameras. The minimal power consumption of the xD card will enable users to benefit from enhanced battery life and fewer battery recharges.
The Type M xD card suffers some compatibility issues with older cameras (especially video recording see below).
- The Fuji Type M XD Picture card is NOT compatible with the following Fuji cameras:
M603, F700, A345, A360, A370
- The Fuji Type M XD Picture card is NOT recommended for use with the following cameras:
S5000, S7000, F610, S20 Pro
- The following cameras require a firmware upgrade to work with Type M XD:
A330, A340, F710, A120
The Fujifilm and Olympus branded xD Picture cards can be interchanged in the digital cameras of both Fujifilm and Olympus.
Before using this card for the first time, this card should be formatted in accordance with you devices' operating instructions.
